“A stunning 47% of all TechBUZZ presenting companies through year-end 2013 have reported financings to date, which speaks directly to the market interest and level of quality of these young enterprises,” said Julia Spicer, Executive Director, MAVA and founder of TechBUZZ.
Since its launch in 2011, 167 TechBUZZ presenting companies have received more than $162M in disclosed funding, with many more investments and acquisitions made under undisclosed terms.
“I am very excited to have this opportunity, the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association and their members are responsible for helping some of the world’s most influential technologies get off the ground. To be accepted at this conference is an acknowledgement that we have graduated from an idea to a business ready for growth.” Said, M.W. Bloom, President and Founder of CRIMEWATCH.
CRIMEWATCH- originally started in 2009 as a printed publication in Pennsylvania that focused on building positive public partnerships for law enforcement and distributing information about criminals and fugitives, CRIMEWATCH reorganized and launched as a technology start-up in 2012, releasing the CRIMEWATCH Network, a public engagement platform for law enforcement, in July of 2013. With the guidance of the Dauphin County District Attorney’s office and 15 police agencies throughout the capital region, CRIMEWATCH has helped local police increase their positive public engagement through a strategy of transparency and open communications. Under the www.CRIMEWATCHPA.com umbrella and through CRIMEWATCH Mobile on iOS devices over 30,000 visitors a month help supply insight and feedback directly to law enforcement. This information has generated hundreds of tips that have led to over 75 arrests, including the arrest of a fugitive child molester on the run for more than five years.
