The York City Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police/Fugitive Unit continues their search for Laquan A. Pierrelouis. Laquan is wanted for Criminal Homicide of Braydon Aldinger and Derek Ferree.

On 04/15/2014 at approximately 1400 hours, Steelton Police were called to Redeemed United Church of Jesus Christ in the 800 block of Wood Street, Steelton. The Church reported that unknown person(s) did take the registration plate from the church van. The PA registration plate is : OB 77552. Police were called to 710 Grantley Road by York College Department of Public Safety for three subjects trespassing on the property.  The property is owned by York College.  According to the Department of Public Safety officer, when the subjects saw him approaching, they dropped several items of scrap metal and fled in a vehicle.  The officer took a picture of the vehicle.  The following day police encountered the suspects at a local scrap yard.  As a result of the investigation, all three suspects will be cited for a summary offense of trespassing.

On 04/14/2014 at approximately 1955 hours, Steelton Police were dispatched to 300 block of South 2nd Street for a report of an open door at a vacant residence. On 04/14/2014 at approximately 0830 hours, a Steelton resident in the 500 block of Spruce Street reported suspicious activity overnight. The caller reports that the dogs on the property were uncontrollably barking last evening after midnight. When the resident awoke this morning and discovered that the rear door screen was torn and some items on the rear porch were knocked around. Steelton Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information should contact police at 717-939-9841

Police arrived on scene to investigate the incident and Michael L Derita became confrontational with police. Derita was advised that he will be cited via summons for Disorderly Conduct. The citation will be filed at MDJ Kenneth A Lenker 12-2-02

On 04/11/2014 at approximately 2041 hours, Steelton Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of Bessemer Street, Steelton. Officers arrived on scene and after a brief investigation it was learned that Carol Yamairy Serrano did cause an injury with sharp instrument to another resident in the household. Serrano was arrested on scene and transported to Dauphin County Justice Center for arraignment and processing.

Public Notification of Internet Scam; On 04/11/2014 at approximately 1100 hours, a Steelton resident contacted police in regards to an internet scam. The scam was received as an Email with residents name/address/phone and social security number attached. The Email originated from a person saying they were a "Senior Attorney" and that the resident was named in a lawsuit. The Email contended that the resident would owe over $11,000 unless this attorney was contacted. The resident contacted the Steelton Police instead and it is believed this is a scam to obtain money under false pretense. Residents of Steelton should be aware not to respond to such scams and that if residents are not sure they should contact Steelton Police at 717-939-9841.

DAUPHIN COUNTY AND HARRISBURG ANNOUNCE NEW PROGRAM TO REDUCE GUN VIOLENCE

HARRISBURG – Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico and Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse today announced a new anti-violence initiative aimed at reducing gun violence in Dauphin County at a press conference  in the lobby of the Dauphin County Courthouse.

Under the “$100K Illegal Gun Project,” Harrisburg Police and the District Attorney’s Office will request courts set bail at a minimum of $100,000 cash for anyone charged with illegally carrying a firearm.
