On 8/30/15 at 1115 hours a male entered the Metro Bank, 23 Rohrerstown Rd. and provided a note to a teller requesting money.  The male exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.  He fled the scene in an older Honda Civic with purple wheels, driven by another unidentified male.  Following an investigation the male was identified as Christopher L. Huynh.  

At approximately 9:15pm on Tuesday, September 1, a robbery occurred in the 2700 block of Ella Street.  The victim was pushing a bicycle and walking with his young son when they were confronted by the suspect. The suspect appeared to be intoxicated and was described as a black male, approximately 5' 7" wearing a gray hat, sky blue t-shirt and jeans.  He had a tattoo of the virgin Mary on his left bicep and a crucifix on the inside of his left forearm.

On Thursday, August 27, 2015, a theft was reported to the Shippensburg Police Department, to which a debit card was stolen and used to make an unauthorized purchase at the Dollar General Store, located at 486 East King Street. Upon investigation, it was found that Rininger stole the debit card from the victim's purse and used it to make an unauthorized purchase for $56.45 dollars on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.

Rininger was charged with Access Device Fraud and Theft by Unlawful Taking.

On said date, at approximately 7:00 P.M., the Shippensburg Police Department was dispatched to 40 Cumberland Avenue for an unauthorized use of vehicle in progress. Upon investigation, it was found that a 16 year old female juvenile took her mother's car keys and drove her mother's vehicle partially down Cumberland Avenue without permission before the mother was able to stop the vehicle. The juvenile also intentionally damaged the front door of their residence, valued at $398.00. 

On August 28, 2015 at 1400 hrs 2 Constables attempted to serve a criminal warrant on Varrah Armstrong, age 22 at her residence in New Holland Borough. Armstrong was taken in to custody after a brief struggle and transported to MDJ Rodney Hartman's office, 745 B E Main St New Holland.  While at MDJ Hartman's office the Constables searched Armstrong and found her to be in possession of 6 glassine bags containing Heroin.

NHPD Officers responded and took possession of the Heroin and filed charges of Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On August 27, 2015 at 1314 hrs NHPD Officers were called to the 200 blk of S Brookfield Dr in New Holland Borough for a trespassing complaint.  Upon the arrival of NHPD Officers they were advised 2 males riding ATV 4 wheelers had ridden on to the property which is posted NO TRESPASSING.  The resident who reported the incident also had taken photos of the 2 males riding on the property.  NHPD Officers observed the 2 males riding in an adjacent field.  NHPD Officers approached the males who were along the road on the motorcycles.  When the Officers activated their eme

On 8/31/15, the missing wedding ring was anonymously turned in to the front desk of the hotel.    The victim, who is not from the area, was notified.   No new leads on the theft.

Male victim reported to ELTPD that at approximately 8:30 pm, Friday, 8/28/15, he had accidently left his wallet at the self-check out register at Wal-Mart.  The victim realized the loss when he got too his car and upon returning the wallet was gone.   The wallet contained cash, a debit card and the victim's identification.   It was discovered that after the theft, the stolen Debit card was used to make a pizza delivery order into Lancaster City.  

While on patrol I pulled onto the parking lot of Sheetz and noticed two male subjects trying to wake up another male that was sitting at one of the tables outside the store.  The sleeping male was later ID as 19yro John McCLERNARD.  McCLERNARD appeared very intoxicated. He kept falling asleep, had slurred speech when he talked.  I was able to obtain a PBT reading of .278% BAC.  EMS was called and McCLERNARD was transported by ambulance to the Chambersburg Ho

SPD was dispatched for a white Nissan sedan parked in a handicap reserved space without a plate or placard.  Police issued a citation and called for a tow truck.  After the tow truck operator had the vehicle hooked, the owner/operator of the Nissan (19 year old Chance BITTINGER) exited a nearby house.  During the conversation police determined  he had been consuming alcohol and issued him another citation, this one for Under age drinking.

On 8/31/15, ELTPD responded to the Dollie & Me Outlet located in the Rockvale Square Outlets complex.  It was discovered that at approximately 6:30 pm, Saturday, 8/29/15, two Hispanic females and a Hispanic male acted together to conceal and steal two dolls and clothing valued at $223.   The suspects commit the theft in the presence of a young boy.   The suspects can be seen concealing the merchandise in the attached surveillance videos.   The male suspect is seen concealing an doll inside his pants and the two female suspects conceal another doll and doll clothing in a shopping bag.

A residential burglary in the 900 block of Galion St. was reported yesterday evening.  The residents reported that someone had entered their residence between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM, August 31st, and had stolen a video game system.  Nothing else appeared to have been tampered with.

Police are investigating a reported apartment burglary in the 4000 block of Nancy Dr.  The resident left his apartment on Sunday, August 30th, at about noon and returned yesterday, August 31st, at about 1:30 PM to find that someone had entered his unlocked apartment and had ransacked and damaged things throughout his entire residence.  A small amount of cash was taken.

Swatara Police are asking for help from the public in investigating the burglaries of six cabins located on Hoak Island in the Susquehanna River, Swatara Twp. The unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the cabins and removed a wide variety of items to include electronics, food, beer and a shotgun and a machete. It is believed a boat was used due to the large amount and types of items taken. On Saturday 8/29/15 Carlisle Police responded to a report of an assault that had occurred on Cemetery Ave at about 0200 hours. A male victim stated that multiple individuals approached and hit him several times while he was walking in the alleyway. The victim informed police that the suspects proceeded to take $80 in cash from his wallet prior to departing the area. This case is currently under investigation.
