04/23/2014 13:15- A driver who was stopped for traffic violations the evening of 4/23 was issued a warning notice and was required to provide proof of being licensed. The subject came into the station today, but did not have photo-ID. The subject was eventually identified as Nathan S. SCHELLHAMER, age 25 of Millersburg. SCHELLHAMER's license was suspended and he was wanted on several traffic warrants out of Susquehanna Twp. DJ 12-01-01. SCHELLHAMER was taken into custody and turned over to a Constable for transport to DJ 12-1-01.
04/21/2014 13:12 -Millersburg Police are investigating the theft of a concrete flower pot in the 100 block of Center Street. The owner of the flower pot said it was taken between the 02-20-14 and 03-07-14. The flower pot is valued at $80 dollars. The owner also said the suspect also broke the other flower pot while trying to take that one as well. UPDATE 04/22/14-The stolen property was located at a residence in the 500 block of Union St. Charges of Receiving of Stolen Property, Tampering with Evidence, and Criminal Conspiracy are pending against known suspects.
04/18/2014 20:30 A resident in the 400 block of Union St. Returned home from an extended trip and found that a concrete bench had been stolen from the front walk way of their residence. The bench was estimated to be valued at approximately $200.00. UPDATE 04/22/14 -The bench was recovered at a residence in the 500 block of Union St. Charges of Receiving Stolen Property, Tampering With Evidence, and Criminal Conspiracy are pending against known suspects.
04/17/2014 15:15 Residents reported 3 males going door to door soliciting business for a home remodeling company. The males were located in the 900 block of Center St. The males did not have the required permits and were warned that further violation would result in them being cited. The subjects were checked for warrants. One of the males, John Robert SHAFFER, age 24 of Lancaster was found to be wanted on numerous warrants. SHAFFER was taken into custody on the warrants. SHAFFER was also found to be illegally in possession of a controlled substance.
04/13/14 UPDATE: A person came forward and provided information leading to an arrest of a 17 year old male in connection to the truck spinning donuts in the grass in MYO park. Charges were filed with District Justice MARGERUM'S office. 04/04/2014 16:53 Police received a report of a blue Chevrolet Avalanche spinning donuts in the grass in MYO Park on April 3, 2014 at approximately 1830 hrs.
On 04/23/2014 at approximately 1918 hours, Steelton Police were called to a residence in the area of 500 block of Bessemer Street in Steelton for a report of a neighborhood disturbance involving at least 20 persons. Police Officers arrived to speak to the caller who reported she allowed her children outside in her backyard to play. At some point the neighbor next door identified as Mark Megoulas also came outside. Megoulas soon began harassing the children including calling them racial slurs. Steelton Police did arrest Megoulas.
At their March 12, 2014 meeting, the Spring Garden Township Board of Commissioners adopted resolution #2014-02, regulating speed on Lancaster Avenue. The maximum speed limit for Lancaster Avenue will now be posted at 25MPH from the 500 block to the 1300 block.
On 19 April 2014 at 0038 hours Swatara Township Police officers on a foot patrol in the 2200 block of Paxton Street observed suspicious activity in the parking lot of a business. An investigation led them to make contact with Rashawn D. Davis b/m/32 DOB: 10-6-1981 of 559 Woodbine Street, Apt. 5 Harrisburg who was inside a Green Buick Century bearing PA registration JCL9965. Illegal drug activity was observed inside the vehicle and officers impounded the vehicle and obtained a search warrant for the vehicle.
On Saturday 04/19/2014 at approximately 0213 hours, Steelton Police stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the 700 block of South Front Street, Steelton. The police officer on scene recognized that the driver exhibited signs of intoxication during contact. Police conducted roadside field coordination exercises and based on the officers observations the driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The driver was transported to Dauphin County Booking Center for chemical testing. Police will file charges upon return of the chemical testing results.
On Friday 04/18/2014 at approximately 2340 hours, a Steelton Police patrolman was conducting speed enforcement assignment in the 400 block of South Front Street, Steelton. Shortly thereafter a vehicle was observed at more than twice the allowable speed limit in this area. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Jerome Britton SR. Police discovered that Britton had an active warrant for his arrest. Britton was arrested on scene and transported to Dauphin County Booking Center. A traffic citation will be filed with MDJ Kenneth A Lenker 12-2-02
